Minutes from: Prudential Committee Meeting - March 6, 2004

Meeting called to order by Chairman Harry Joiner at 10:30am

Attendance: Prudential Committee Members: Sue Schneider, Richard Tallberg, Harry Joiner, Dave Devane, Clerk/treasurer Cheryl Powers, and Bill Brownhill. Absent members George Shennan, Amy Somerville and Road Superintendent Hugh Powers.

Minutes for February 7, 2004 Meetings: Chainnan Harry Joiner solicits a motion to dispense with the reading of the February 7, 2004, minutes and accept them as written. Sue Schneider made the motion to dispense with the reading of the minutes and accept them as written. Dave Devane seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.

Treasurer's Report March 6, 2004: Chaiman Joiner solicits a motion to accept the Treasurer's Report. Sue Schneider made a motion to accept the Treasurer's Report. Dave Devane seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.

Road Superintendent's Report: Hugh Powers, absent from meeting he's attending to emergency road work. Clerk Cheryl Powers reads his report to the Prudential Committee. Due to weather conditions we had excess mud areas, weather change was drastic from cold to warm. Mud areas taken care of with dense grade are, Jester's Ln, Prince Paul Path, Sir Walter, Whistling Arrow, King Richard. Mountain Dale and Pine Dale spent two days on it. 1 1/2' mud over the whole road, cover with dense grade. Monday will take care of Little John and part of Prince John,William Stone open's April 1st. Hauling dense grade out of West Stockbridge from Lane, a load every hour. Culverts on Black Arrow and aide Carriage - King Richard and aide Carriage - Friar Tuck and Whistling Arrow are plugged up. Cleaned both ends and put rock salt in to try and open them up. Black Arrow and Olde Carriage is still plugged and washing out the road down to King Richard. Chainnan Harry Joiner solicits a motion to accept the Road Superintendent's report. Sue Schneider made a motion to accept the Road Superintendents Report. Dave Devane seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.

Communications and Reading of the Bills: Treasurer Powers made available Warrant #10 for $9,432.38 for FY04, for the Prudential Committee to review and discuss. Chainnan Joiner solicits a motion to pay the bills as presented. Sue Schneider made a motion to pay the bills as presented. Dave Devane seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Letter received from Bylaw Review Committee, invitation to their March 21st, @ 2:00pm (see letter for specifics).

Committee Reports: J. Griffin invites Prudential Committee members, Clerk-Treasurer, to the Bylaw Review Committee's last meeting. Copy of letter was given to all members on the meeting.

Old Business: Brief discussion between Sue and Richard on Letter from SFNA, regarding a liaison. Richard motioned to have a letter sent to SFNA, stating that until such time, this matter has been tabled until the Bylaw review proposal is complete and the legislative process is started. Sue seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.

New Business: Due to personal reasons, Harry Joiner tenders his resignation to the board, to be effective after the closing of the March 6, 2004 meeting. With regret the board accepts his resignation and thanks him for his service. Board reviews Road Closed announcement for paper, we are following the same procedure that the Town of Becket does. Harry Joiner solicits a motion to advertise the announcement in Country Journal. Sue Schneider made the motion. Dave Devane seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.

Public Participation: Joe Marino, inquires about Olde Carriage and King Richard. The Road Superintendent is tending to the problem area now, the road is presently closed due to the wash out.
