Prudential Committee Meeting

Committee Members Present:  David Bonney, Chair; Bill Brownhill, Co-Chair; Gilles Beaudoin, Jerry Grondin, Jerry Summit; Marty Feit, Clerk-Treasurer

Absent:  Dennis LaChapelle, Road Superintendent, Giles Beaudoin

Public Present:  Al Barvenik, Fran Barvenik, Eva Bonney, Joyce Brownhill, David Devane, Nancy Devane, Al Labonbard, Sandra Labonbard, Howard Lerner, Robert Ronzio, Ann Tuleja, Craig Willis

Meeting Opens at 10:32 AM

  • APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM 11/3/07

Motion made and seconded to accept the minutes of the 11/3/07 meeting; unanimous approval.

  • TREASURER’S REPORT

Mr. Feit reports on current balances and amounts owed. The accountant is still working on Free Cash. Letter received from MEMA re:  Money still due to come in. Budgeted spending is on target year-to-date.

Motion made and seconded to accept the warrant as prepared; unanimous approval.

  • ROAD SUPERVISOR’S REPORT

Mr. Bonney reports that Mr. LaChapelle is not present but nothing has been happening with the roads so there is nothing to report.

    • Not addressed.
  • Road Sign Placement
    • Not addressed.
  • Road Closings
    • Not addressed.
  • PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
    • Ms. Tuleja speaks regarding two letters sent to the District.
      • The insurance matter is in the hands of the attorney.
      • The issue with the culvert on Prince John is still not resolved.
    • Mr. Feit is concerned with old culverts on the sides of the roads.
    • Mr. Ronzio questions board members discussing work to be done with a contractor who is not under contract.
    • Mr. Ronzio asks for an explanation of the parking ban.
    • Mr. Ronzio says the Berkshire Eagle will no longer deliver newspapers in the Forest during the winter and wants to know why and where the boxes will be put.
    • Mr. Ronzio has questions about the ad for contractor in the paper.
      • Discussion of extending bid date.
    • Mr. Willis asks about the status of [White Wolf’s] winter work on the roads.
    • Mr. Lerner has questions about where the winter sand/salt will be stored.
    • Ms. Brownhill has questions about storage of sand/salt.
    • Ms. Labonbard addresses worsening conditions of the roads.
    • Ms. Devane speaks about the process of obtaining bids.
    • Ms. Devane talks about the Legislative Act, asking if previous confusion has been or is scheduled to be clarified.
    • Mr. Ronzio asks about missing road signs and road closings.
    • Mr. Devane asks permission to look into the missing signs.
      • Mr. Feit is directed to send a letter to Andrews asking if they have any Sherwood Forest signs.
    • Discussion of the Road Super being absent from meetings.
      • Mr. Bonney will ask Mr. LaChapelle to submit written reports for future meetings.
