Minutes

Committee Members Present: Bob Ronzio, Mike McEnerney, Bill Brownhill, Dick Tallberg, David Bonney

Staff: Chuck Andrews, Road Superintendent; Maryellen Lake, Clerk/Treasurer

The meeting was called to order at 10:30 a.m.

Reading of Minutes: The minutes of the February 4, 2006 meeting were distributed and read. Bob moved to accept the minutes as read; Mike seconded; motion passed. The minutes of the February 4, 2006 Special Meeting were distributed and read. Bill moved to accept the minutes; Bob seconded; motion passed.

Road Superintendent's Report: Chuck noted there was not much activity. He has received and installed the new sign for Brandon's Way. Bob moved to approve the Superintendent's Report; the motion was seconded and passed.

Bob moved to take from available funds the $31,000 to pay Andrews Excavating for the resurfacing project. Dave seconded; motion passed. After a brief discussion regarding the culvert involving the Sykes property, Bill moved to send a copy of the consent agreement, the letter to Sykes, and all other documentation to the Road District attorney. Dick seconded; motion passed.

The advertisement for Clerk/Treasurer position was reviewed by the Committee. The following provision was added: that the candidates must be registered to vote in the Town of Becket. Applications must be received by March 24, 2006. The appointment will be made by the Committee at its April 3, 2006 meeting. Bob moved to submit the ad for publication. Dave seconded; motion passed.

Office Relocation: Dennis has offered the use of his house rent free until July 1, 2006. After some discussion, Bob proposed forming an office/building committee. Bob, Bill, Dave, Dennis and Danny all volunteered to serve on the committee. They agreed to meet on Saturday, March 11, 2006, at 8:30 a.m. at the Town Hall.

There being no further business to come before the meeting, the meeting was adjourned at 12:05 p.m.
