Annual District Meeting June 11, 2005

Minutes

The Annual Meeting of the Sherwood Forest Road Maintenance District was called to order at 1:00 p.m. at the Becket Town Hall. It was determined that a total of 32 District members were in attendance, constituting a quorum.

Election of Moderator: Blanche Lennington nominated Michael Falk. He declined the nomation. Bob Ronzio nominated Steve Rosenthat; Bill Brownhill seconded. There being no further nominations, the nominations were closed and Joyce Brownhill, temporary secretary, cast one ballot to elect Mr. Rosenthal Moderator.

Moderator Rosenthal read the warrant. The following is the result of the voting with regard to the articles posted:

Article I: The proposed Operating Budget for Fiscal Year 2006 was presented in the total amount of $222,080.00. There was a brief discussion and explanation of Line Items 3, 4, 5, 6 and 12 pertaining to appropriations for the Town of Becket, Assessors expenses, Superintendent’s salary, increase in Office Expenses, Attorney’s fees, who is responsible for handling the money, lack of line item for audit, Waterway Maintenance. All questions having been answered satisfactorily, the Moderator called for volunteers to act as tellers. Eva Bonney and Ruth Rosenthal volunteered. The Moderator called for a voice vote to accept the Operating Budget, which was accepted, with no No votes or abstentions.

Article II: Moderator Rosenthal called for nominations from the floor for Regular Resident. Chuck Clemons’ name was placed in nomination and seconded; Bob Ronzio’s name was placed in nomination and seconded; there being no further nominations, the nominations for Regular Resident were closed and the vote was taken by secret paper ballot. Bob Ronzio was elected with 27 votes to 5 votes for Chuck Clemons.

Moderator Rosenthal called for nominations from the floor for Regular Non-Resident. Linda Searles nominated Michael McEnerney; the nomination was seconded; Gerry Grondin was nominated and the nomination was seconded. There being no further nominations, the nominations were closed and the vote was taken by secret paper ballot. Michael McEnerney was elected with 18 votes to 14 votes for Gerry Grondin.

Moderator Rosenthal called for nominations from the floor for Alternate Resident. Eva Bonney nominated Angela Hilton; the nomination was seconded. Jerry Summit was nominated; the nomination was seconded. There being no further nominations, the nominations were closed and the vote was taken by secret paper ballot. Jerry Summit was elected with 17 votes to 16 votes for Angela Hilton.

There being no further business to come before the meeting, the Moderator called for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made, seconded, and passed by unanimous voice vote.
