These minutes were provided by Blanche Lennington SHERWOOD FOREST ROAD DISTRICT Minutes from: Prudential Committee Meeting - May 1, 2004 Meeting called to order by Chairman Sue Schneider at 10:35 am Attendance: Prudential Committee Members: Sue Schneider, Richard Tallberg, George Sherman, Clerk/Treasurer Cheryl Powers, Road Superintendent Hugh Powers and Bill Brownhill. Absent members Dave Devane and Amy Somerville. Public Attendance: Refer to sign in sheet. Minutes for April 3, 2004 Meetings: Chairman S. Schneider solicits a motion to dispense with the reading of the April 3, 2004, minutes and accept them as written- R. Tallberg made the motion. George Sherman seconded the motion- Motion carried unanimously. Treasurer's Report May 1, 2004: Chairman S. Schneider solicits a motion to accept the Treasurer's Report as read. R Tallberg made the motion. George Sherman seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Road Superintendent's Report: The first week in April we are still taking care of the mud arm through out the forest. Gordon Tree Service took down four trees and left the wood for anyone who wants it, but removed the brush. Replaced 6 culverts, 2 of them on Excalibur Dr. were completely buried and plugged. Also had the machine go around the Forest and inspect the culvert ends to make sure they were open. Street signs and hardware were ordered, should be in this coming week. As soon as the signs are received they will be installed. Spring grading will start on Monday or Tuesday. They will start on Jester Lane to Whistling Arrow and then go to Sherwood Dr. out to Sir Walter area. Lengthily discussion on road grading, and a roller. Chairman S. Schneider solicits a motion to accept the Road Superintendent's report. R Tallberg made the motion. George Sherman seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Communications and Reading of the Bills: Treasurer Powers made available Warrant #12 for $26,539.86 for FY04, for the Prudential Committee to review and discuss. Chairman S. Schneider solicits a motion to pay the bills as presented. R. Tallberg made the motion. G. Sherman seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Letter received from MEMA letter and Attorney Pacella. (see letters for specifics). Committee Reports: None. Old Business: Lengthily discussion on Budget FY05, Richard Tallberg made a motion to level fund all appropriations, with the exception of the Town of Becket services. George Sherman seconded the motion. Motion carried. Hugh reports on the conservation permit for Lancelot, permit was withdrawn as a result of engineers acting on the behalf of SFNA. Richard suggests that the Association re-files the permit and let them pay for it. Letter was address to the conservation commission from the SFNA. Postcards will be mailed as a reminder for the Annual Meeting. Notice will be in Country Journal and Berkshire Eagle. The warrants will be posted at the entrances and the store. New Business: Discussion on roller, George motion to have the roads rolled after grading not to exceed $75.00 per hour. Richard Tallberg seconded the motion. Motion passed. 2 in favor 1opposed Public Participation: Discussion occurs on budget for FY05, conservation permit and grading with a roller. Remarks for the Good of the District: None.
